Mo has been invited to speak along with several other professionals at a seminar for Registered Nurses on the benefits of complementary medicine and self-care in reducing hospitalization return rates in the elderly population.
This seminar is part of a global effort to practice more ‘integrative’ medicine, defined by the National Institutes of Health as ‘non-mainstream health care approaches’ which consumers perceive as benefiting their health or well-being.
Mainstream healthcare is beginning to acknowledge emerging evidence that some of the perceived benefits are ‘real or meaningful’. Patients are asking for alternatives and are implementing their use with or without the knowledge of their healthcare providers.
